growing up we were all into different toys I honestly never grew out of them they just changed and got more expensive. my collection of edc items consist of what the community calls users like the paramilitary 2 from spyderco the native chief etc, thats where i feel comfortable price wise, somewhere in between $100 to $200 i did start like many though buying cheap serrated knives from eBay and treating them like throwing knives i couldn't tell you how many broke on a tree and bounce directly towards me haha. once i got a stable construction job i started looking around for a nicer knife back then there were a thousand pm2 videos from table top reviews to guys chopping trees down! so obviously 20 year old me bought one that didn't start my EDC addiction, no it was years later with the spyderco tenacious! the tenacious was just affordable enough that it made me more comfortable taking it to work. Eventually i stumbled upon Nick Shabazz on youtube and well thats were gear became a hobby, knowing about gear watching gear reviews buying gear posting gear photos on facebook it was a full blown hobby haha. years later Nick made a video stating that we needed more channels reviewing gear and that where my channel started and my IG account
